Beta Alpha Psi
VCU’s Epsilon Zeta chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, an international honors organization, has performed outstandingly over the years and has been granted 30 consecutive years of “superior” chapter status by the organization’s national office.
During the 2007-08 school year, members and candidates completed more than 1,300 hours of service to the university and the Richmond community,
including assistance with the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk, the American Heart Association’s Start! Walk and several visits to the Richmond Food Bank. More than 800 hours were spent tutoring business students in the two principles of accounting courses required of all business majors.
Members of the Epsilon Zeta chapter also spent more than 115 hours helping more than 200 of VCU’s international students complete required tax filings with the federal and state governments. The members and candidates spent an additional 590 hours engaged in professional activities, many with members of the accounting-professional community, while maintaining outstanding GPAs, working and meeting personal and family goals.
This group has consistently contributed to the well-being of both the VCU community and the larger community.
