Historic Markers
In the spirit of VCU’s remarkable history rooted in that of the Medical College of Virginia and the Richmond Professional Institute, the university has embarked on an historic marker initiative. These bronzed markers will be located throughout the Monroe Park Campus and MCV Campus to highlight important landmarks and honor the university’s major milestones.
MCV Campus historic markers dedication
The Oct. 22 dedication of two MCV Campus markers, held at the plaza between the Egyptian and Hermes A. Kontos buildings, kicks off VCU’s 40th Anniversary celebration and commemorates the history of the St. Philip School of Nursing and the birthplace of cardiac transplantation.
